Unit Circle

Radians Explained...

Picture
Radians are also a unit of measure in the unit circle. These are units of pi Π). There are 2Π radians in one circle. Quad I goes from 0 to Π/2 radians, quad II goes from Π/2 to Π radians, quad III goes from Π to 3Π/4 radians and quad IV gres from 3Π/4 to 2Π radians. To convert radians to degees, multiply the degree measure by Π/180.

Problem 1 (easy): Convert 30 degrees to radians.

Problem 2 (medium): Convert 42.5 degrees to radians.

Problem 3 (hard): Convert 428.379 degrees to radians.

Problem 4 (applied): A scientist measures an object's angular velocity to be 57.3degrees/second. He knows that it's more convenient to work with radians/second. Help him convert the angular velocity to radians/second.
